Jamie Anderson of South Lake Tahoe is the winner of back-to-back Olympic gold medals, her latest at the 2018 Winter games in South Korea.

During the slopestyle snowboard event at the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympic Games at Bokwang Phoenix Snow Park, competitors had to wait for hours to complete two runs in the women’s finals.

Wind and cold temperatures forced a delay overnight, and into Monday afternoon, Korean time. Normally competitors get three runs.

Jamie had an impressive 83-point first run, enough for her to claim the gold. This was the second time slopestyle has been offered in the Olympics, which makes Anderson winner of both gold medals in the slopestyle Olympic events. The 27-year-old Anderson from the South Lake Tahoe area won the initial slopestyle event at the Sochi Games.

She spent the past four years adding a double-cork 1080 to her repertoire, and the twice-flipping jump separated her from silver medalist Laurie Blouin of Canada and bronze-winning Enni Rukajarvi of Finland.
